7 Ways To Fix Your iPad Not Charging In 2018

Software Issue

Way 1. Reboot the iPad

1. Open iTunes on the Mac/Windows PC, if you don’t have it, please visit iTunes Download to install one.
2. Connecting the iPad to the Mac/Windows PC with a Lighting Data Cable. Insert your device passcode or to Trust This Computer if a message appears.
3. Select your iPad model when it appears in the iTunes, back up your device and wait it finished to prevent data loss.
4. After finishing the backup, click restore the iPad to restore the device. Once the restore is over, charge your device to see whether the issue is fixed or not.

 

Hardware Issue

 

If the not charging issues are caused by the hardware, the methods above are not useful. There are a lot of hardware that will cause the iPad not to charge, such as charging port, lighting charging cable, charger, battery, motherboard and so on.

 

Way 4. Clean the charging port

 

After using the iPad, the charging port may contain some dust, cotton or other stuff to prevent the device from charging. Clean the port with a toothbrush or toothpick may fix this issue.

 

Way 5. Use a new well-known charging cable

 

Check your data cable, maybe we have broken it inadvertently. If you find somewhere of the cable is broken, we should use another well-known charging cable to charge the device.
