The Xperia Z5 Premium was released in November, 2015, accompanied with the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact. Days ago, we showed you a how to replace broken Xperia Z5 Premium screen step by step guide since cracked screen is the most common one among all the smartphone problems. The second may be the charging problems like slow charging, no charging, or loose charging port after being plugged in and out for many times. Here we walk you through how to replace a Xperia Z5 Premium USB charging port in case of you may need.   Step 1. Power off the Sony Xperia Z5 Premuim.

 

  Step 2. Use the hair dryer/heat gun to heat up around the edges of the Sony Xperia Z5 Premuim back cover.

 

  Step 3. When the Xperia Z5 Premium back cover adhesive is warmed up, insert the thin metal pry tool to release the back cover. (Slide in some poker cards or guitar picks to keep the back cover from sticking again.)

 

  Step 4. Pull the 2 pull adhesive tapes under the battery to release the Xperia Z5 Premium battery. (If no, heat up on the screen side and pry up to remove the battery.)

 

  Step 5. Undo a phillips head screw and remove the two plastic brackets.

 

 

  Step 6. Disconnect the display flex cable connector and the charging port flex cable connector.

 

  Step 7. Undo the 4 screws holding the Xperia Z5 Premium motherboard in place.

 

  Step 8. Remove the plastic bracket and the Xperia Z5 Premium rear facing camera.

 

  Step 9. Pry up the Xperia Z5 Premium motherboard flex cable connector and front facing camera connector.

 

  Step 10. Remove the bracket covering the front facing camera then release the Xperia Z5 Premium front facing camera.

 

  Step 11. Remove the 2 plastic pieces under and near the loudspeaker.

 

  Step 12. Remove the Xperia Z5 Premium motherboard flex cable ribbon.

 

  Step 13. Remove the Xperia Z5 Premium charging port.

  Now, reassemble the Xperia Z5 Premium with a new charging port with flex to finish the whole replacement.
