Intelligent Energy Launched Upp, A Fuel Cell Charger for Smartphone

It is well known that astronauts have been using the hydrogen fuel cells for more than half a century already. Many people hope it become smaller and cheaper so that they can charge the smartphone about three to five times over.  Now a company called Intelligent Energy announced to have achieved with the newest fuel cell system- "Upp." [caption id="attachment_5510" align="alignnone" width="300"]Intelligent Energy Launched Upp, A Fuel Cell Charger for Smartphone Intelligent Energy Launched Upp, A Fuel Cell Charger for Smartphone[/caption] The device features a detachable cartridge that owns 25 amp-hours (25,000mAh) of charge - more than 10 times the 1,800mAh to 2,300mAh common in current smartphones. Intelligent Energy claimed that a single cartridge is good enough for five charges, the device will be launched at the AfricaCom conference and the company plans to start selling it in Africa in December, other areas market will see it throughout 2014. The charger, which connects to smartphone via a USB cable, measures 120x40x48mm, and the cartridge measures 91x40x48mm. That means that together, the two are nearly nine inches long.
