There are many people encountered that their iPhone 6S would shut down randomly while it still owns 20% or more battery energy. After a bunch of complaints, Apple announced an iPhone 6s battery replacement program which provides consumers world-wide with a free battery replacement for iPhone 6S that unexpectedly shut down, and they posted a statement for this issue.

Apple has claimed that this iPhone 6S battery issues isn’t a safety matter and only affects a limited number of iPhone 6s devices manufactured in September and October 2015. And they said that they found that a small number of iPhone 6s devices made in September and October 2015 contained a battery component that was exposed to controlled ambient air longer than it should have been before being assembled into battery packs. As a result, these batteries degrade faster than a normal battery and cause unexpected shutdowns to occur.

Come to ‘iPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues’ page and fill in your iPhone 6S serial number, which can be found by going to Settings > General > About on your device, scrolling down and you can find it out, then you can see whether you can get a free battery replacement service.
