The appearance of Huawei’s Mate50Pro

In terms of color, Huawei Mate 50 Pro is available in five colorways, three of which are glass versions, with colorways containing Obsidian Gold Black, Frost Silver, and Luminescent Purple. Two are plain leather versions, with the colorways of Kunlun Dawn and Kunlun Haze.

The high-end image of the Mate series is deeply rooted in the back cover design heritage that began with the Huawei Mate 20 series. The iconic camera module follows the Mate series "circle" + "central axis symmetry" design language, while Huawei Mate 50 Pro also adds a new element to the edge of the module - the Parisian studs, which look like a ring of frosted particles on the edge of the camera from a distance, adding detail and layers to the lens module.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro camera module design is both inherited and changed compared to the Huawei Mate 40 series. The Huawei Mate 40 has the lens hidden in the black ring of the camera module for a stronger sense of unity. The Huawei Mate 50 Pro, on the other hand, has a separate lens section that protrudes from the entire lens module, making the lens arrangement more clear and obvious. In short, the iconic design is very recognizable, so people can immediately see that this model has a Mate pedigree.

On the front of the phone, Huawei Mate 50 Pro features a dual curved screen design with rounded edges. The dual curved design not only enhances the feel of the phone but also reduces the weight of the body to a certain extent, making it more comfortable to hold in the palm of your hand. Huawei Mate 50 Pro body dimensions are 162.1mm (length) x 75.5mm (width) x 8.5mm (thickness), and the bare weight of the leather version is only 205g, a weight that is far thinner than expected when compared to the 6.74-inch screen. In addition, the top bangs area of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro screen has become smaller, which can effectively reduce the blocking of the display screen, and the presence of the top bangs is minimal during daily use.

Although Huawei Mate 50 Pro has a reduced bangs area, it has a number of internal components. 13MP front camera (F2.4 aperture), a posture sensor, a 3D ToF depth sensor, an ambient light sensor, and a speaker are all concentrated in this small bangs area. The Mate 50 Pro has both, and the small details show the maturity of Huawei's craftsmanship and ideas.

The design of the exterior details, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro power button is still red, the top in addition to the microphone, and an infrared receiver. The top speaker position is moved from the original top bezel to the screen bangs, which can bring more volume to handheld phone calls. At the bottom of the screen are the SIM card slot, Type-C charging port, and speaker opening.
