The latest four ways to unlock your cell phone

The mainstream of smartphone in 2017 is full screen. There are many new phones launched with a full-screen display. To get a bigger display, all of them removed the Home button. Therefore, a number of new unlocking methods have emerged. Here we will have a look at them.

Iris scanning

Samsung launched the Galaxy S8, S8 + and Note 8 in 2017, all of them are featured with the iris scanner. With the iris scanner, you can unlock the device with a look. The iris scanning is very easy to use, just lift the phone to eye level at arm’s length and wait for the iris scanner to capture the data.

Face ID

This is the first time that Face ID used on the iPhone, it works with the infrared camera, flood illuminator, front camera and dot projector, this combination is called TrueDepth Camera System. The TrueDepth camera captures accurate face data by projecting and analyzing over 30,000 invisible dots to create a depth map of your face and also captures an infrared image of your face. Face ID automatically adapts to changes in your appearance but you can’t cover it. If you cover your mouth or nose with your hand, it will unlock fail. After setting up the Face ID, wake up the iPhone X screen and look at it, the device will be unlocked quickly.

The OnePlus 5T features a new way to unlock the screen, it works only with the front facing camera. It analyzes over 100 identifiers on your face such as the distance between your eyes or between your nose and upper lip. The Face unlock works in different lighting conditions as well as when you are wearing glasses. It’s faster than the Face ID but the security needs to be improved.

In-display fingerprint

Recently, the Vivo launched the Vivo X20 Plus UD, it features an in-display fingerprint sensor which was shown off at the CES 2018. The in-display fingerprint sensor is an optical sensor supported by Synaptics. If you put a Tempered Glass Screen Protector on the screen, it may influence the fingerprint function.
