15 Tips to Improve Your Galaxy Note 5’s Battery Life

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was released in August, 2015, featuring a 3000 mAh battery, which is larger than average smartphones with the same or similar sizes. However, many users on XDA-Developers Forum complaining that Galaxy Note 5 battery life drained way too fast and wondering how to fix this annoying issue. Here we collect some battery life saving tips for Note 5.

1. Enable Power Saving Mode

Go to Settings > System > Power Saving > Power Saving Mode > On. You can adjust other setting like: “Block background data”, “Restrict performance”, “Grayscale mode” etc. to change how power saving mode works.

 

 

2. Use Ultra Power Saving Mode

Go to Settings > System > Power Saving > Ultra Power Saving Mode > On. You can enable or disable apps like: “Phone”, “Messages”, “Internet” or tap “+” to add more apps in the ultra power saving mode.

 

 

3. Reduce Screen Brightness & Screen Timeout

Go to Settings > Quick Settings > Display > Brightness > uncheck the Auto and drag the slide to the left to adjust the screen brightness. Also, set the Screen Timeout under the tap of Display.

 

 

4. Toggle off Smart Stay

Go to Settings > Display > Smart Stay and toggle it off.

 

 

5. Turn off Motions and Gestures

Go to Settings > Motions and Gestures and disable the 4 options.

 

 

6. Adjust Widgets

Go to Settings > Applications > Weather > Weather Settings > Weather Notifications and adjust the time frequency.

 

 

7. Check Abnormal Battery Usage

Go to Settings > Battery > Abnormal Battery Usage and monitor the battery draining apps, update, remove or reinstall them.

 

 

8. Go Grayscale

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Vision > and turn on Grayscale if you use the screen all the time, for example, reading.

 

 

9. Let Wi-Fi Scan While It is On

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > More > Always allow scanning > Scan only while Wi-Fi is on.

 

 

10. Set Vibrations

Go to Settings > Sound & Notifications > Vibrations and set the vibration intensity and other options according to your needs.

 

 

11. Switch off Auto Scan

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Universal Switch > Settings > and switch off Auto Scan.

 

 

12. Shut down Gesture Wake Up

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Dexterity and Interaction > and shut down Gesture Wake Up.

 

 

13. Disable Interaction Control

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Dexterity and Interaction > and disable Interaction Control.

 

 

14. Pick up a Dark Theme

The Galaxy Note 5 comes with an AMOLED display screen, which power saving capability works perfectly in a black background as it needs more power to visualize the white screen.

 

 

15. Remove Apps You Don’t Use

Remove those apps you seldom or never use can release ROM space, reduce battery consumption and speed up the whole device.
