trying to replace a broken digitizer on an ipad. things went well with the disassembly until i noticed the replacement part was for the ipad. a couple days later i go to remove the ribbon connecting the screen to the motherboard and the latch on the zif connector flew off into the wild blue yonder. i finally ended up duct taping the ribbon in place after trying to wedge different materials in the zif to make it connect. the ipad kinda works though half the screen is dimmer (only noticable when reading movies look fine) and i have to be very careful applying pressure as the contact will come loose on occasion. super janky but it kinda works. be careful popping those zifs i thought i was being careful and was super surprised to see it explode off, i'd worked with them before and still had this problem.
