Netflix Has No Plan of Developing BlackBerry 10 Operating System

Many news suggest that BlackBerry is “in talk” with Netflix to work on BlackBerry’s new App. If so, the cooperation doesn’t progresses smoothly. Rumors say Netflix doesn’t prepare to develop a version of its app for BlackBerry 10. And the company confirms the information: It has chosen to forgo the platform completely for the time being. “We have no current plans for a BlackBerry app,” a spokesman told AllThingsD.   The spokesman also claims that BlackBerry has little incentive to develop for the platform and its small user base, it means the operating costs of developing and maintaining an app for a low-volume platform like BlackBerry 10 outweigh any potential benefits. BlackBerry 10 released with support from lots of popular apps — Kindle, Skype, Facebook, Twitter, and Dropbox, to name many — and WhatsApp is upcoming. But if Netflix and Instagram always have no plan for the new app, it could be a trouble on BB10 adoption. BlackBerry is hoping Netflix changes its mind. “We’re committed to bringing top titles from all over the world to BlackBerry 10 customers,” BlackBerry spokesman Alex Kinsella told AllThingsD. “At this time, it’s in Netflix’s court to join the excitement around BlackBerry 10 — we hope they choose to bring a BlackBerry 10 experience to their customers. We’d love to have them.” We’ll have to wait and see just how many days it will take to make Netflix change its mind.   News from AllThingsD
