[caption id="attachment_3120" align="aligncenter" width="409"]iPhone USB data cable Your iOS Device Could Become Infected by A Simple Charger[/caption] If you think it is safe to borrow an iOS charger, you might be wrong. Recently, researchers have discovered how to modify chargers to load malware onto iOS devices. Billy Lau, the leader of the research group at the Georgia Institute of Technology, has found that an iOS device could be infected in less than a minute after being plugged in to a charger loaded with malware. Mr. Lau will present this at Black Hat USA 2013. The researchers will describe how to bypass Apple's security mechanisms, and will show how attackers can hide their software in the same way Apple hides its own built-in applications to avoid detection. Therefore, iOS users, your devices may be not impenetrable. Next time, be careful when using someone else’s charger, especially a public charger. Apple has still not officially commented on this new found vulnerability. Source: DigitalTrends
