According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will make significant changes to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models in order to boost sales in mature markets, which believes that Apple will create a stronger differentiation between the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 standard models. This will enable Apple to increase Pro shipment allocations and boost iPhone ASPs. Additionally, Apple will begin differentiating between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro. A precise product segmentation strategy is a highly effective practice for generating more sales/profits in mature markets.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman retweeted a tweet from Ming-Chi Kuo suggesting that Apple will also change the naming scheme for its Pro Max models. The iPhone Pro Max models will be renamed Ultra. Recently, Apple launched its high-end smartwatch, the Apple Watch Ultra, and it uses a similar naming scheme for its M-series chips: Pro, Max, and Ultra. It is possible that we will see the iPhone 15 Ultra model instead of the iPhone 15 Pro Max next year.
A leak suggests that the iPhone 15 lineup will include a 5x periscopic camera and the "Dynamic Island" cutout screen with Face ID. Apple may eventually move away from Lightning ports on the iPhone 15 series, according to Ming-Chi Kuo's predictions earlier this year.
Kuo has also confirmed that the iPhone 15 series will be produced in both India and China. This marks the first time the latest iPhone series will be produced outside of China simultaneously.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are expected to be the first Apple products to use the TSMC 3nm chip A17, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will continue to use the A16 chip (which was used in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Max).
