China iPhone 5 Sales Hit Two Million Units in The First Weekend

News from BGR indicated that iPhone 4S outsold iPhone 5. UBS analyst Steve Milunovich wrote, "Some of our Chinese sources do not expect the iPhone 5 to do as well as the iPhone 4S".
However, Apple has announced that the first weekend sales of the iPhone 5 have hit two million units in China.
"Customer response to iPhone 5 in China has been incredible, setting a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China", said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, "China is a very important market for us and customers there cannot wait to get their hands on Apple products".
The iPhone 5 went on sale in China on December 14th. Apple previously announced that the iPhone 5 would go on sale in 100 countries by the end of the year.
