Three Things Your Cellphone Could Do Besides the General Functions

As we all know, most time, we use our cellphone to call, send messages, take pictures, surf the Internet and so on. But you probably never knew your handset could do the following three things, which could also very important in your daily life.

1. How to disable a stolen cell phone

Just remember your cell phone's serial number. The way to check this number is to enter the digits: * # 0 6 # on your phone, and then a 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone gets stolen, you can then call your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. So if everybody knew this, then the point of stealing phones would be gone. So take this tip and share it with your friends and family.

2. Emergency

Another thing you might not know is the Emergency Number worldwide for cell phones, 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your handset network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the cellphone will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, interestingly enough, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.

3. Don’t worry if you locked your keys in the car

Does your car have a remote keyless entry? This might actually come in handy someday. So another good reason to own a cellphone is that if you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, you can call someone at home from your cellphone and make them unlock the car door for you. How? Hold your cell phone about a foot away from your car door and have the person with your keys press the unlock button while holding it near the cellphone on their end. This will result in your car to unlock no matter how far away you are from your extra set of keys.
