We know that there exists multiple versions of unofficial lightning authentication chips and connectors appearing in China, and when that probably become the good information for those seem for lower priced accessories and chargers, it seems no good for MFI who are the Apple's partner of making legitimate accessories.

It is well known that BGR sent a photo that they suggested third party non-approved authentication chips for Apple’s Lightning USB cables. This is very important for Apple had included an authentication chip to stop manufacture inexpensive and potentially unsafe third-party Lightning accessories, and when the news was announced the chip was cracked, the photo shows more than one clone of Apple’s original design.
