LG Nexus 4, Much Tougher Screen?

Just a few days ago, LG has announced its new flagship--Optimus G with 1.5 GHz quad-core, 2GB RAM, 32 GB built-in storage. No doubt this is an awesome Android device, but next Monday, in Google's Android events, the new Nexus devices is going to be released which could be its direct market competitor. The former leaked LG Nexus 4, the Android 4.2 version(Key Lime Pie) could all come in front of us. You guys may wonder which one is better? LG Nexus 4 or Optimus G? Did LG only apply its most advanced technology only on its own Optimus? Here we have the LCD assembly of Optimus G and Nexus 4 and would make a detailed comparison to show you the secret. Here are the two LCD assembly, at the first sight, you could easily figure out that the glass panel of Nexus 4 is slightly shorter than Optimus G and has much rounded edge. The flex cables of both these LCD assemblies seem much alike and the position of front camera hole, sensor holes are the same.

Turn them over, The display area of Optimus G is slightly bigger than Nexus 4 and has three physical navigation keys while Nexus 4 don't. Because of this reason, the real display area of Optimus G is bigger than Nexus 4.

When looking from the side angle, the difference of these two LCD assembly can be easily found, the front glass lens of Optimus G is much much thinner than Nexus 4, which may cause worse anti-scratch ability. No doubt that LG adopt the True HD IPS Plus technology to both Nexus 4 and Optimus G, now the digitizer and LCD were pressed together instead of sticking by adhesive just like Samsung's AMOLED screen. That could minimize the thickness of the LCD assembly and save more room for the battery.
