It’s Harder to Repair Samsung Galaxy S5 than Other Galaxy Models

As you may know, the Samsung smart phones are always easier to be repaired compared with other brands’ phones. But this time, Samsung has added water and dust resistant features to its new flagship—Samsung Galaxy S5, which means it has a more solid structure. Will this new features cost more time and need special skills to repair? Let’s find it out.

The easiest part to disassemble S5 is its back cover and battery, which are built removable. The rear housing cannot be removed after fastening all screws on its back, which is very rare compared with other phones; so if you want to further take apart the S5, you have to take the display assembly out. Unfortunately, Samsung has applied very thick and sticky adhesive on the back of the display, which is the most difficult part during disassembling the phone. A lot of heat and force are needed for dismantling the display, and special attention has to be paid during this process. After the display assembly is taken down, you could tear the rest of the phone down without worry.
