How to Solve Wi-Fi Problems After Updating iOS 8

Recently, a lot of Apple users reported that their iPhone or iPad encountered issues with Wi-Fi such as: greyed-out or “Unable To Connect” and so on after updating to iOS 8. Here we collected some potential solutions you can try to see they solve the issue for you.   1. Reset Network Settings Go to* Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.*

2. Turn off Wi-Fi Network Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services.

3. Turn Airplane Mode on and off

If it still not works after turning Wi-Fi off and then on again. Try to switch on the Airplane Mode on for about 30 seconds, then turn it off and reconnect to the hotspot.

4. Turn Bluetooth Off Sometimes Bluetooth can interfere with Wi-Fi speeds so you could try turning Bluetooth off. It won’t fix the issue, but it might reduce it.

5. Update Software There’s clearly some kind of glitch in here, so Apple is very likely to release a patch to deal with it. Keep an eye on Settings > General >Software Update.

6. Restart Your Device Hold down the Home Button and the Sleep/Wake Button and restart your device.

7. Factory Reset Try a factory reset. Remember to backup your data before resetting.

8. Restart Your Router Turn your router off for about 5 minutes and then turn it on again.

9. Change Your Router Channel If you have a two channel router then try changing from 5GHz to 2.4GHz. Generally speaking, 5GHz is faster, but with a shorter range. Some people report a better connection on 2.4GHz and a few find an improvement by switching the other way. If it doesn’t work, try to put your router’s IP into your browser and log in to change settings. Refer to your ISP for instructions.

10. Switch DNS to Google Go to *Settings > Wi-Fi *then tap the “i” icon next to your router, scroll down to DNS and tap the numbers, then enter “8.8.8.8”. Restart your device and check if it works.
